PAIN

  • Headaches, neck aches, chronic pain sensations
  • Poor Sleep patterns

  • Hypersensitivity to light, noise, sense of smell and crowds

  • Tremors of head, arms and hands
  • Seizures - grand mal and petit mal (temporal lobe and cellular level can be very difficult to notice; example: staring; they may be as brief as an 8-second daydream)
  • Paralysis and numbness
  • Sensory loss - hearing, vision, touch

IMPAIRED SELF-IMAGE CONCEPT

  • Denial that there is anything strong or that a problem exists
  • Confusion
  • Secret fear that he/she is going crazy
  • May begin to self-medicate, using drugs, and/or alcohol beverages
  • May want to keep spouse or other significant person away from his/her treating professionals
